#34 • Parlor Flue Covers (Pair)
Part of Gloucester Online Estate Auction (timed auction by Goodman’s Antiques & Estate Jewelry)
High bid $5.00
Status: Sold
Pair of antique lithograph Victorian chimney flue covers, both depicting children playing in a parlor. In 19th-century homes, wood-burning or coal stoves were connected to chimneys through wall openings. During summer months when stoves were disconnected, these decorative covers were hung to hide the unsightly, soot-covered holes. Excellent antique condition with original metal frames, reverse-painted gold glass, and chains for hanging.
